Making Whitebait Fritters for Matariki

Wow, exciting! Lots of us had no idea about what whitebait was. Luckily the Weka Reading group found out a lot of information by reading a book on whitebait from the reading resources.

Then, after they had asked lots more questions, they did a Google search to find more information and answer their questions.
They learned that:
    1.  When you search the Internet it can be like looking for a needle in a haystack!
    2.  If you add a comma, then the word "New Zealand" to your search key word, then you will get information from your own country - the search is "narrowed".
    3.  Whitebait are small, juvenile fish from 5 different species in New Zealand. They are very tiny... but very delicious when they are put in fritters.
The Weka reading group made a Keynote presentation which they will need to upload to our blog.

Matariki is a special festival in New Zealand that we have been learning about... class members will post their information about this festival that is little-known even in New Zealand.
